Meet the team

Marco Dell'Aquila


Marco is the Chairman of inspiratia, a company he co-founded and which provides thought-leadership, data and analytics to the infrastructure and energy sectors globally. He is also a Senior Adjunct Professor of energy at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, where he also serves on its European Advisory Council. He has spent 30 years developing, financing and investing in renewable and clean energy technologies around the world.

Alex Blackburne

Head of Renewables

Alex leads inspiratia’s renewables coverage, writing up-to-the-minute financing news and analysing the sector's key regulatory developments. He regularly chairs panel discussions with leading market participants as part of the company’s programme of renewables briefings. Before joining inspiratia in August 2014, he was editor at sustainability publication Blue & Green Tomorrow, leading a team of journalists, interviewing thought leaders and co-ordinating the publication of the company’s in-depth reports. Alex has a first class honours degree in journalism from the University of Lincoln.

Daniel Atzori

Head of Research

Daniel is a specialist in energy, geopolitics and economic issues and holds a PhD from Durham University’s School of Government and International Affairs. Prior to joining inspiratia in 2015, he was senior researcher at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (Feem) and editorial coordinator of ``Papers of Dialogue``, published by the Agi news agency. Daniel has been a regular columnist on energy issues for Agi’s magazine “Oil” and he has spoken at conferences in the UK, USA and Italy.

Ott Tammik

Events Editor

Based in Washington DC, Ott heads up content for inspiratia's events. Having first joined the company in London in 2014, Ott has covered the global infrastructure finance market extensively, and currently also looks after inspiratia's Americas and infratech content, as well as hosting webinars and chairing industry panel discussions.

Omolola Coker


Omolola is an Analyst at inspiratia, covering global infrastructure and energy sectors and manages inspiratia’s Africa theme page. She produces weekly in-depth analysis on key markets and trends, and undertakes research tasks for inspiratia’s bespoke assignments. Omolola holds an MSc in Development Studies from the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), University of London. Prior to joining inspiratia in 2018, she was project manager at REA Consult, an infrastructure and renewable energy consultancy.

Ofelia Stroe


Ofelia is an analyst at inspiratia and editor of Asia theme. She has a MSc in International Relations from the University of Essex, with a focus on renewable energy policy and is currently in charge of inspiratia’s riskWatch methodology. Ofelia has previously worked in the renewables sector in China as a programme officer on publishing, on a wide range of United Nations Industrial Development Organization and International Center on Small Hydropower projects. She is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Romanian.

Robert Leeming


After graduating from the University of Salford in 2009 with a BA in Politics, Robert has spent several years working in print and online journalism in Manchester and London. In the past he has been part of editorial teams at Criticaleye, HRreview, Mondo*Arc, Lux and The Marine Professional. He has also contributed to the Manchester Evening News, Port Magazine and GQ.

Magda Kowalewska

Operations Director

Magda is managing inspiratia’s operations, overseeing its administration, finance, HR, and events programme. Before joining in 2015, she had previous experiences in the Healthcare and Education sectors. She received her MA from the University of Szczecin, BA from the University of Bari and graduated in Management with HRM from the University of London.
